SideFX Houly Challenge

Day 1: Earth. 
Boolean operations on Earth mesh geo. Point lattice and stars using instantiation. Space gas via volumes.

Day 2: Wind
Volume sim superimposed over particle sim in lattice configuration. Various applied forces (curve, advection, etc.) to create effect.

Day 3: Water
FLIP particle fluid sim superimposed over lattice configuration.

Day 4: Fire
Pyro sim superimposed over dynamic lattice system. Lattice defined by particle sim using pyro sim for advection and color attribute.

Day 5: Wave
Undulating lattice system in wave form driven by rotating building shell underneath.

Day 6: Swing
Multiple swinging pendulums painting within a spherical surface; inspired by the traditional wood harmonographs.

Day 7: Speed
Spiraling ellipsoid speeding through space and generating a trailing lattice.

Day 8: Falling
Falling column debris dampened by emerging lattice system.

Day 9: Growth
Hard-surface growth encapsulating lattice system.

FLIP and RBD collision output as a dynamic lattice adapted with a few Retime SOPs for slow-motion.

This is my collection of entries for the SideFX Houly Challenge, where a theme for each day in July 2020 is used to guide creation of a project using only SideFX Houdini. And while each day's theme is something different, my aim has been to use the theme of a lattice system in the construction of each entry to tie them all together. All content is generated in Houdini, rendered with Redshift in Houdini, and final image processed with Houdini's composition tools.
